Please join us for a discussion with Feroz Khan regarding his landmark new book on India-Pakistan strategic relations, Subcontinent Adrift: Strategic Futures of South Asia. Uniquely for one volume, this book examines the security challenges faced by both India and Pakistan in isolation, as well as the strategies they have each adopted in response.
Subcontinent Adrift maps out and explains India and Pakistan’s respective interests, motivations, and long-term objectives from a contemporary perspective, and analyzes the causes and consequences of the drift in South Asia. It also considers the extent to which the “drifting” subcontinent is affecting the political, military, and economic dynamics on the international stage. The book concludes with three scenarios for South Asia’s strategic future with varying levels of stability. Our expert panel will provide comments on the important questions the book raises for our understanding of current and potential strategic trendlines in this crucial region for global stability.
