Adriana Erthal Abdenur

Dr. Adriana Abdenur, a Brazilian scholar and policymaker, is currently Co-President of the Global Fund for a New Economy (GFNE). From 2023 to 2025, Adriana served as Special Advisor in International Affairs in the office of President of Brazil, where she worked on the President’s vision and priorities for the G20, climate change, and reform of global governance. Previously, Adriana was the co-founder and Executive Director of the Brazil-based think tank Plataforma CIPÓ, where she worked on issues of international relations and sustainable development.

She earned a PhD in sociology (focus: development and economic sociology) from Princeton University and an AB in East Asian Studies from Harvard University. She lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
