European Union-Latin America Relations

This project examines the political and economic dimensions of Latin America’s deepening relationship with Europe, and the prospects for greater trilateral cooperation involving the United States. Europe’s quest for support for Ukraine and European demand for Latin America’s mineral resources have drawn European attention to Latin America. That creates opportunities to broaden international engagement in the promotion of democracy, increase Western investment to balance Chinese influence, strengthen environmental conservation, and promote Latin America’s economic development.
