Latin America has the potential to become a major global technology player, thanks to its rapidly growing digital economy and relatively young population.

About the Project

Latin America has the potential to become a major global technology player, thanks to its rapidly growing digital economy and relatively young population. This project convenes policymakers, private sector leaders, experts, and international institutions to develop strategies to accelerate Latin America’s digital transformation. Research and activities address opportunities to strengthen cybersecurity, improve connectivity and access to other digital public goods, expand the digital workforce, and promote the regional development and adoption of artificial intelligence technologies. The project seeks to strengthen the region’s capacity to harness technology to increase competitiveness and speed economic growth, improve government transparency and performance, and broaden access to education, health care, and financial services. With the right investments in innovation, infrastructure, as well as savvy laws and regulations, the region could help shape the future of technology.
