Lindsay Rodman is the Visiting Associate Professor of Law and Fellow, National Security, Foreign Relations and Cybersecurity Law at George Washington University Law School. She is an expert in national security law, the law of armed conflict and military law. She also has extensive experience studying and practicing in the context of civil-military relations, arctic security, NATO, and the U.S.-Canada relationship. Earlier in her career, she was an active duty Marine, serving as an operational law attorney while deployed to Afghanistan, Deputy Legal Counsel to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and a White House Fellow, placed at the National Security Council as Director for Defense Policy and Strategy, among other assignments. She remains an officer in the Reserves. After leaving the Marine Corps, Professor Rodman served as the Special Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel & Readiness and as a senior advisor in the Pentagon working on international humanitarian policy. She is also a seasoned nonprofit executive, serving as the Executive Director of the Leadership Council for Women in National Security (LCWINS) and Executive Vice President at Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).
She began her career at Arnold & Porter LLP in Washington DC. She holds a JD from Harvard Law School, an MPP from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and an AB in Mathematics from Duke University.
