This webinar continues from the Anticipatory Action (AA) series’ first session, The Evolving Landscape of Anticipatory Action in Nepal, which explored the evolution of AA efforts and the broader policy landscape.
This webinar will showcase how anticipatory action is put into practice in Nepal, highlighting the strategies, tools, and decisions that transform forecasts and early warnings into timely, life-saving actions. Speakers will share on-the-ground experiences from a range of initiatives, illustrating how triggers are developed and applied, how coordination takes place across institutions, and how actions are implemented at national, local, and community levels.
The discussion will also explore real-world challenges faced by practitioners, including rapid decision-making, navigating financing and technical constraints, and ensuring that anticipatory actions are integrated with existing disaster risk management and social protection systems. Speakers will reflect on their experiences engaging with local governments, communities, and humanitarian actors, highlighting the practical complexities of operationalizing anticipatory action in diverse contexts.
By examining these experiences, the webinar aims to surface lessons learned, emerging good practices, and opportunities to strengthen the effectiveness, impact, and sustainability of anticipatory action in Nepal.
This event is made possible with the support of the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies (MACP)
