From 2011-2014, Stimson co-chaired the Lebanon Working Group with the U.S. Institute of Peace. In June 2014, the project released a study on lessons from past stabilization efforts for U.S. engagement with Syrians affected by the crisis, monitoring the spillover from the war on Lebanon, Jordan, and on the ideological and sectarian tensions in the region.
