Bill Reinsch quoted in Sputnik News on Trump and Clinton trade deal politicies

MOSCOW (Sputnik) â€” On other issues, be it the US role in international affairs or environmental policies, Republican nominee Donald Trump and his Democratic rival Hillary Clinton are standing the world apart, but their views on trade deals have much in common despite different wordings and rhetoric. Both candidates are in unison pledging to pursue only those agreements that would be in the best interests of the United States.

“Donald Trump has condemned previous agreements, including TPP as not being in the US’ interest and the product of incompetent negotiators, but he has also said he supports free trade, in the last debate he said there will be more free trade under his administration than the current one – he just wants better agreements,” William Reinsch, a former president of the National Foreign Trade Council, told Sputnik.
