Reja Younis

Reja Younis is a Junior Fellow with the South Asia Program at the Stimson Center. Prior to working at Stimson, she was a Research Analyst for the Chicago Project on Political Violence and has served as an Editorial Writer and Subeditor of the Opinion and Editorial section for The Tribune newspaper. Her research interests include nuclear deterrence in South Asia, as well as a continued exploration of the role of leaders in contemporary politics. She completed her MA in International Relations from The University of Chicago, where she majored in International Security, International Law, and Human Rights. Her Master’s thesis examines the effect of US Presidential rhetoric on media-based narratives during refugee crises. She holds a BS in Social Sciences and Liberal Arts from the Institute of Business Administration Karachi and graduated with an overall distinction and gold medal in Political Science. She is fluent in Urdu and French.
