Climate Change, Conflict, and Foreign Assistance

Dr. Edward Miguel,
Associate Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, will join us for a discussion on
climate change and conflict. Professor Miguel will discuss his research that links climate
“shocks”, like drought, to the outbreak of civil wars.  He will also note the
implications of this research for US foreign assistance, conflict prevention and
energy policy.
