Washington, Dec. 3 (CNA) China is likely to take a stronger position on Taiwan following the pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party’s victory in the Nov. 29 local government elections, U.S. experts said Wednesday.

Alan Romberg, director of the East Asia program at the Stimson Center, predicted that China will make it clear to the DPP and its supporters that a government which does not support Beijing’s “one China” policy will pay a price.
