Rebecca Montiel is the Accounting Manager at the Stimson Center. The Accounting Manager is responsible for maintaining and controlling general ledger accounts, recording financial transactions, providing thorough reviews of financial records ensuring accuracy of allocations, and assisting with invoicing, reporting, and funder compliance.

Rebecca has 15+ years of accounting experience. Before joining Stimson, she was Accounting Manager for Global DEEZ, LLC where she provided accounting services to nonprofit and for-profit organizations, including a government subcontractor. Prior to that, she was the Accounting Manager for the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. Over the course of 10+ years, she held multiple positions with AMHIC, a self-governing insurance company for DC-based nonprofits. Her journey with AMHIC culminated in her final role as Manager, Finance & Administration.

Rebecca is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Rebecca holds an M.S. in Management/Accounting from the University of Maryland Global Campus, a B.A. in English Literature from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an A.A. in Business from Montgomery College.
