Maheyaar Barron

Maheyaar Barron is a Research Assistant with the Food Security program at the Stimson Center. His research focuses on gastrodiplomacy, refugee communities, and the interrelationship between food and conflict. He also works as a volunteer translator for a Syrian refugee family in the DC metro area. He holds a B.A. in Environmental Economics with cum laude honors from Middlebury College. Prior to joining Stimson, he interned at Common Earth Gardens/Common Table where he assisted the programs director in the day to day management of the organizations 11 local community gardens. He has also interned at Sustainable Agriculture of Louisville and the United Nations Foundation.
