Jaiya Lalla

Jaiya Lalla is a Program Coordinator and Research Assistant with the South Asia Program at the Stimson Center. Before joining Stimson, she worked in the non-profit space on issues surrounding global education in the Washington Metropolitan area. She has additional experience in the government and local organizations, including the Senate, Peace Corps, the Department of State, and the National Endowment for Democracy. Jaiya graduated with Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs focused on Security Policy and Asia from the George Washington University. While at GW, she spent a semester abroad with the China Studies Institute at Peking University in Beijing, China. Her research interests include South Asian geopolitics, China-South Asia relations, and ethno-religious conflict. She is a recipient of the DC Office of Human Rights inaugural Emerging Leaders Award and speaks Hindi and Mandarin.
