Isha Gupta is a Research Assistant with the South Asia Program and Deputy Editor of South Asian Voices at the Stimson Center. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and History from Wellesley College. In her senior year, the Wellesley Political Science Department selected her to write an honors thesis on transitional justice efforts in the aftermath of the Sri Lankan civil war. Isha’s research interests include the peace and security implications of ethnic conflict in South Asia and the role of South Asian diasporic communities in shaping American foreign policy initiatives in the region. Before joining Stimson, she interned for the Woodrow Wilson International Center, Issue One, a political advocacy nonprofit working to strengthen democracy and transparency in the United States, the California State Assembly, and the International Refugee Committee. She has a working knowledge of Spanish and novice proficiency in Bengali.
