Alina Zyszkowski

Alina Zyszkowski was the Director of Development for the Stimson Center. She has more than 20 years of experience in international development, nonprofit leadership, and fundraising. Prior to coming to Stimson, she led nonprofit organizations and businesses in business development, partner relationship management, and strategic planning.

Previously, Alina worked for various international nonprofits including the Global Development Network (GDN), an international organization, based in New Delhi, that builds research capacity in developing and transition countries. From 2001 to 2005 she served as Executive Director of the Society for International Development, Washington DC Chapter (SIDW). She has worked on projects for the American Red Cross, Save the Children USA, Counterpart International, CIVICUS and AECOM. Alina has served on several nonprofit boards, including most recently as the Board Chair for ICCO USA.

Alina is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). She also holds a Master’s Degree in Social Policy, Planning and Administration from the Catholic University of America, Washington DC.
