Dr. Yuzo Murayama

Dr. Yuzo Murayama is a professor at
Doshisha University in Kyoto. He began his career at the Nomura Research
Institute and was involved in industry analysis. He then developed his
field into national security studies and international relations and is now
involved in economic security studies. Before joining Doshisha, he was associate professor at Kansai Gaidai University and then professor at Osaka University of
Foreign Studies. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Washington. Dr.
Murayama spends much of his research career looking into the intersection
between economy and national security. He is one of very few scholars in
Japan who conducts policy-relevant research of the challenges in Japanese
defense industry has, and how to enhance US-Japan industrial cooperation in the
national security area.
