This portion of the APSG meeting on the Ukraine Atrocity Crimes Advisory group begins with remarks by US Ambassador Clint Williamson, a former Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes who currently serves as the Senior Advisor to Ukraine’s Atrocity Crimes Advisory Group. Next, Professor Dermot Groome lends his expertise in International Criminal Law and delivers comments regarding this advisory group.

Featured Speakers

Ambassador Clint Williamson is the senior director for International Rule of Law, Governance and Security at the McCain Institute for International Leadership at Arizona State University and a professor of practice at the Sandra Day O’Connor Law School at Arizona State University. Ambassador Williamson has also served in a variety of senior roles with the United Nations and the European Union. Most recently, from October 2011 to August 2014, he served as the Chief Prosecutor of the EU Special Investigative Task Force in Brussels. He served as U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for War Crimes Issues from June 2006 to September 2009.  

Professor Dermot Groome is a Professor of Law and the Harvey A. Feldman Distinguished Faculty Scholar at Penn State Dickinson Law. Much of his teaching, scholarship, and service focus on emerging areas of human rights and international criminal law and draw upon his deep expertise and experiences. He had served in the past as Senior Trial Attorney for several key cases before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
