Efforts to help local groups and individuals in vulnerable societies recognize and resist hate speech and violence

This ASPG meeting focused on the work Dutch NGO, Radio La Benevolencija. George Weiss, Radio La Benevolencija’s Director, explained the group’s origins and the approach it employed to empower groups and individuals in vulnerable societies to recognize and resist hate speech and violence. Cathy Buerger of the Dangerous Speech Project offered comments on George’s presentation. The conversation was moderated by Jim Finkel, Co-Founder of the APSG, Stimson Nonresident Fellow, and Visiting Scholar at George Mason University’s Carter School.
