Nonproliferation Landscape: An EU Perspective

DateThursday, May 17, 2007
LocationHouse Capitol, Room HC 7

German Ambassador Friedrich Gröning, Commissioner of the Federal Government for Disarmament and Arms Control, will join us for a broad discussion of nonproliferation and how it is perceived by the European Union Presidency.  Germany has taken up the mantle of European Union leadership at a difficult time.  In an era where the nuclear weapon states have abdicated leadership on key disarmament and nonproliferation issues, Germany is one of the few states able to fill that void.  Ambassador Gröning will share with us the state of current nonproliferation challenges and opportunities for moving forward.
