Kirk Lancaster is a Junior Fellow with the South Asia Program at the Stimson Center. A scientist turned policy analyst, he holds a B.A. from the University of Chicago where he graduated with honors in both Chemistry and Law, Letters, and Society. His two senior theses highlighted his research in ultrafast laser spectroscopy and US-China diplomatic history, respectively. Kirk's other research interests include arms control and nonproliferation, Chinese foreign policy, and the intersection of science and international security. His prior professional experience includes time at the Department of State, the Paulson Institute, and the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. Kirk was a Boren Scholar in Beijing, China, and speaks, reads, and writes Mandarin Chinese.
