Launch event for “Restoring Deterrence” a free online course produced by the Stimson South Asia program that explores deterrence dynamics in the strategic chain including the United States, China, India, and Pakistan.

Please join us for an expert discussion on deterrence stability in Southern Asia as we launch our new, free online course: Restoring Deterrence: Coercion and Crises in Southern Asia

A panel of regional experts will assess the current state of deterrence stability in Southern Asia, what it means for great power competition in the Indo-Pacific, and how these issues are understood by and framed for the public. This discussion marks the launch of our latest online course, which unpacks the concepts of deterrence, compellence, and coercion among nuclear-armed states and explores their role in the Cuban missile crisis and recent crises in Southern Asia. The course is a free resource designed for students of all experience levels and backgrounds. It takes three hours to complete and earn a Stimson certificate. Register for the course.
