Human Trafficking: An Agenda for Action in the Trump Administration
March 29, 2017
| 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM 1211 Connecticut Ave NW, 8th Fl, Washington, DC 20036
Human trafficking is a challenge that defies easy solutions. This modern day form of slavery straddles geographic boundaries as well as policy sectors — and cannot be effectively addressed by governments alone. Please join the Stimson Center for an on-the-record event examining what governments, civil society, and private sector actors can do to better combat human trafficking. This event will consider the threat holistically: What steps can international organizations, like-minded national governments, private sector entities, and non-government organizations take to persuade uncooperative governments to take action on this pressing issue? What incentives and pressure points can they use? What initiatives have worked in the past, and what innovative approaches could be tried in the future?
