WHAT: U.S. Rep. Ed Royce (R-CA), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, joins Amb. Lincoln P. Bloomfield Jr. for a strategic conversation discussing U.S. foreign policy and America’s military and diplomatic engagement around the world.

U.S. Representative Ed Royce serves California's 39th Congressional District, which encompasses parts of Orange, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino Counties. For the 114th Congress, Royce was selected to be Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and he has held that position since January 2013. Royce is one of our nation's premier representatives to foreign governments around the world, and is a strong advocate of a foreign policy that keeps the American homeland safe. Immediately prior to becoming Chairman of the Committee, Royce served as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade and a member of the Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific.

Lincoln Bloomfield Jr. is President of Palmer Coates, non-attorney Senior Adviser at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, Operating Advisor at Pegasus Capital Advisors and Senior Adviser at ZeroBase Energy. He was U.S. Special Envoy for man-portable air defense systems threat reduction from 2008-2009 and Assistant Secretary of State for Political Military Affairs from 2001-2005. Bloomfield previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern affairs (1992-1993); Deputy Assistant to the Vice President for National Security Affairs (1991-1992); and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs (1988-1989), among other policy positions in the Defense Department dating to 1981. He is a graduate of Harvard College and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
