POMED coverage of Congressional Briefing event moderated by Geneive Abdo

Representative James McGovern (D-MA), Human Rights
First and the Stimson Center hosted a November 15 Congressional briefing
on the human rights situation in Bahrain and a new way forward for U.S.
government engagement with the Kingdom. Representative McGovern gave
opening remarks, and  Geneive Abdo, fellow at the
Stimson Center’s Middle East program and non-resident fellow at the
Brookings Institution moderated the panel. The panel experts included
Dr. Emile Nakhleh, Research Professor at the University of New Mexico, formerly of the CIA; and Brian Dooley,
Director of the Human Rights Defender Program at Human Rights First.
The event featured a new report issued by Human Rights First titled,
“Plan B for Bahrain: What the U.S. Should Do Next.”
