New Stimson report featured in Military Simulation and Training Magazine

This September 23 the Stimson Center unveiled its strategy called Strategic Agility:  Strong National Defense for Today’s Global and Fiscal Realities. Group Editor Marty Kauchak participated in a September 24 teleconference call with three of the document’s committee members and reports on one recommendation concerning training budget reductions.   

The U.S. DoD’s budget forecast and prospects for fiscal stability are increasingly uncertain.

The Pentagon, which already remains on a trajectory to reduce its spending by $487 billion through 10 years under the 2011 Budget Control Act, is also unable to implement its Fiscal Year 2014 budget programs as that year’s defense bill remains mired in deliberations on Capitol Hill.
