Ambassador Ochieng Adala, a career diplomat, is currently the Acting Executive Director of Africa Peace Forum. He retired in April 1994 after 30 years in Kenya's Foreign Service, having served as Kenya's Ambassador and High Commissioner to Zambia and the Southern African countries - Mozambique, Lesotho, Malawi, Botswana and Swaziland between 1977 and 1983, and Ambassador to Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia (1984 and 1988), and later as Permanent Representative of Kenya to the United Nations in New York, 1992 to 1993. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (Cuttington College and Divinity School - Liberia, 1963) and a Post-graduate Diploma in International Relations, University of Geneva, Institute for Higher Education - 1967. Ambassador Adala has been a participant at the Pugwash Annual Conferences on Science and World Affairs since 1999 and was elected Member of Pugwash Council (2002 - 2012).
