Deciphering Iran and the National Intelligence Estimate

DateThursday, December 13, 2007
LocationSenate Capitol, Room SC 6

Dr. David Kay, senior fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, former head of the Iraq Survey Group, and former IAEA chief nuclear weapons inspector, and Sharon Squassoni, senior associate in the Nonproliferation Program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, will join us for a discussion on Iran and the recent National Intelligence Estimate. What led to the drastic change in the National Intelligence Estimates on Iran over the course of only two years? What is the current state and what are the capabilities of the Iranian nuclear program? What does the NIE suggest about the current state of international nonproliferation regimes and current rules governing nuclear technology?
