Toward an Interdependent Partnership

In a paper entitiled "Toward an Interdependent Partnership" (July 2, 2007), Col. Ozaki presents his research on the US-Japan security alliance and the challenges that remain to forming a truly interdependent partnership.

 

Since 2001, the United States and Japan have witnessed an increased deepening of their alliance. However, a great deal of challenges and hurdles still remain before the militaries of the two countries can cooperate effectively and efficiently. What are those challenges, and how can they be tackled?
