Air Power and Escalation Control
July 21, 2003
In "Air Power and Escalation Control," Indian Air Commodore (retired) Ramesh Phadke examines the question of whether the use of air power across the Kashmir divide would result in unintended escalation. Phadke argues the case that, "The threat of inadvertent or accidental nuclear exchange would be minimal, if not non-existent."
The
Stimson Center's programming on escalation control in South Asia
includes commissioned authors to explore topics relating to deterrence
and crisis stability on the Subcontinent. Stimson Center Visiting
Fellows also procude essays during their stay with us. Many different
points of view will be explored. The posting of essays on the Stimson
Center website should not be construed as an endorsement of them by the
Stimson Center.
