Southern Flows: Weapons of Mass Destruction & the Developing World

How can the international community deny terrorist organizations weapons of mass destruction while furthering pressing development priorities in the Global South?

Over seven years, Stimson and the Stanley Foundation sought to bridge the needless divide that exists between the security concerns of the developed world and the needs of emerging economies.

Southern Flows – edited by Stimson’s Managing Director Brian Finlay – features contributions from diplomats, practitioners, and experts in the Caribbean, Central America, the Andean Region, East Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. To download a pdf copy of the book, click here.

The edited volume is the culmination of our initiative to build support for the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540. The endeavor included research and pragmatic engagement with governments, multilateral organizations, civil society and the private sector.
