Declarations of Chemical Weapons Activities
Several nations have submitted declarations detailing some past or existing chemical weapons related activity. As of June 2001, 140 of 143 states parties have submitted initial declarations. Under the CWC, these countries can request that the Technical Secretariat maintain the confidentiality of their declarations. Some countries have allowed the Technical Secretariat to release a general characterization of their declarations, others have made public statements on their own, and others are not releasing any information publicly.
