It is hardly a secret that 2010 was a year of substantial turmoil in U.S.-PRC relations. Whether one thinks of American arms sales to Taiwan, differences over managing North Korean aggression and its nuclear program, approaches to the South China Sea, or behavior in the East China Sea, it seemed that at every turn Washington and Beijing were on quite different, and often confrontational, paths.
